Audiovisual Installation
This installation was located in the basement of the First Lutheran Church of Chicago prior to its demolition. The work engages with cycles of life, reproduction, and generational succession as quiet forces that, over time, erode the authority of institutional belief systems.
A group of “bugs” montaged from found footage of egg and sperm cells, are projected onto the basement walls. They appear, disappear, move, and feed as spectators walk through the space, creating a living ecology that unfolds beneath the church which was once a site of spiritual power, now emptied and awaiting erasure.
